Basın açıklaması 29.06.2006MAJOR NEW GLOW PLUG MANUFACTURING FACILITY FOR NGK
NGK Spark Plugs, the leading spark and glow plug manufacturer, has announced the opening of a new manufacturing plant on its Komaki site in Japan which has been specially commissioned for ceramic and metal glow plug production.
The decision to create this new plant was taken in response to the rapidly increasing demand for diesel cars in Europe and with it a much greater requirement for glow plugs. It also anticipated rapidly increasing demand for NGK’s glow plugs in Europe following what has proved to be a highly successful launch of NGK’s D-Power assortment in July 2005.
The 30,000 m² four storey building (pictured) has been built on a site at NGK’s Komaki factory which was originally opened in 1962. It has an annual production capacity of 20 million pieces and will manufacture several hundred different glow plug types.
One of the major investments in the new Komaki plant has been in a facility for the production of ceramic glow plugs given the anticipated ever increasing use of these worldwide in the future. The major advantages of ceramic glow plugs include a long service life, an extremely short pre-heating time and a long post-heating time.
An important feature of Komaki is a very impressive heat inspection process during which every single glow plug produced is 100% tested to ensure that its heating performance works correctly. This test is done automatically and checks that all glow plugs reach their predetermined heating specifications.
