NTK Cermets include TiC-TiN cermet and Nitride Cermet. TiC-TiN Cermet has been developed by adding titanium nitride to the conventional Cermet to achieve much finer structure. It has improved hrdness and offers high-speed cutting performance. Nitride Cermet has a specific and tougher alloy structure mainly composed of titanium nitride, instead of TiC.

Cermets are superior to the cemented carbide in oxidation resistance and thermal resistance and enables cutting at higher speed. They also have excellent deposition resistance with negative affinity with iron alloys, and offer high-grade surface finishes.
